Day 1: Oct 1 Meeting, Dinner
As always, we’ll gather in our hotel around 5:00PM for a get-acquainted meeting followed by a brief neighborhood orientation and our first Swiss meal together.
Day 2: National History Museum, Lindt Chocolate Experience
After breakfast we’ll explore the charming cobblestone streets of Zurich’s Old Town, where medieval buildings, centuries-old churches, and cafés reflect the city’s heritage. We will include a guided visit of the Swiss National Museum, housed in a fairytale-like castle, where exhibits trace the cultural and historical evolution of Switzerland. Then, we journey from history to indulgence as we travel to the Lindt Home of Chocolate. Here, you'll dive into the world of Swiss chocolate with interactive exhibits and, of course, samples of the world-famous treat.

The Glacier Express is Switzerland’s most iconic scenic rail journey, linking Chur and the iconic Alpine resort of Zermatt in a leisurely, full-day journey. Panoramic windows offer stunning views of snowcapped peaks, deep gorges, and picturesque valleys as the train crosses 291 bridges and passes through 91 tunnels. This unforgettable ride combines engineering marvels with breathtaking natural beauty in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
Day 4: Gornergrat Excursion
Our excursion today will surely be a tour highlight. We ascend aboard the Gornergrat Railway, Europe’s highest open-air cogwheel train. This spectacular journey affords panoramic views of the Matterhorn and surrounding peaks.

Day 5: Wine Tasting
A travel morning in our private coach brings us down from the Alps to the shores of beautiful Lake Geneva. As is always the case in Switzerland, the views are nothing short of spectacular. In the afternoon, we’ll indulge in a classic wine tasting in Switzerland’s premier wine growing region, the Lavaux. Then we’ll settle in to our lakeside hotel.
Day 6: Chateau Chillon, Lake Cruise, Olympic museum
Today begins with a guided visit to the storybook Château de Chillon, a medieval fortress perched on the edge of Lake Geneva. After exploring the castle’s grand halls, ramparts, and lakeside dungeons we’ll board a historic lake steamer, cruising the pristine waters of Lake Geneva to the elegant city of Lausanne. Here, we visit the world-renowned Olympic Museum, an inspiring tribute to the spirit of the Games.
Hostellerie de Geneve (2 nights) https://www.hotelgeneve.ch/
Day 7: Gruyeres
Another scenic travel day takes us back to the Alps and our destination of the Berner Oberland. Rolling vineyards give way to soaring alpine peaks, lush valleys, and storybook Swiss villages. We’ll break up the journey with a visit to picture-perfect Gruyeres, a beautifully preserved medieval village. Famous as the birthplace of the iconic Gruyère cheese, the village also hosts the HR Giger Museum with its surreal collection, dedicated to the visionary artist behind the Alien movie franchise.
Day 8–10: Berner Oberland Pass
We’ll enjoy 3 full days of exploration of Switzerland’s Alpine wonderland, the Berner Oberland. Each traveler will be provided with a Berner Oberland Pass, good on nearly all regional excursions. Options include: Schilthorn, Schynige Platte, Grindelwald First, and discounts on the Jungraujoch. All regional trains, buses, and lake cruises are also included. Each day we will organize an excursion or you can explore on your own.

Day 11: Lake Cruise, Löwendenkmal
Departing Murren today, we’ll take advantage of Switzerland’s amazing Alpine transportation network on our journey to Luzern. A train-cable car-train combo delivers us to Interlaken, where we’ll board a lake steamer. We cruise the entire length of Lake Brienz, surrounded by towering peaks. Then its back on the train for the final leg to Kanton Luzern. Upon arrival we’ll visit the Lowendenkmal, a stirring monument to the Swiss Guards who died defending the French monarchy during the French Revolution.
Day 12: Walking Tour
Our final day together opens with a walking tour of Luzern. The Old Town is a charming blend of medieval architecture, colorful frescoed buildings, and narrow cobblestone lanes, all nestled along the picturesque Reuss River. Highlights include the iconic Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge) and the Spreuerbrücke. The former is an iconic photo subject while the latter is known for its unique series of 17th century "Dance of Death" paintings.
