We at Imprint Tours believe travel broadens horizons, introduces new ways to see the world, equips us with a new frame of reference for evaluating our own society, breaks down prejudice, and promotes global understanding. Therefore, we endeavor to “Travel with Intent”: an intention to take a reflective, introspective approach; connect with the cultures we visit; and balance the enjoyment of discovery with responsible travel. We want our “imprint” on the planet to be light and our “imprint” on the local culture to be positive.

Morocco is unique. The people, culture and sights are unlike any other place we have visited. Our tour group was diverse: some more physically capable than others, some who normally travel solo, several couples and several solo travelers. Our Imprint guide, Trish and our local Moroccan guide, Mona, did a fantastic job adjusting to the diverse nature of our group without sacrificing any of the tour events. There was enough free time built in and optional activities that one could choose to relax in their room or by the pool for the day rather than travel with the group. By its nature, Morocco required some walking to access the various medinas and cities and a few long days of driving to and from the Sahara Desert. However, both guides kept us informed of the situations and the bus was more than comfortable for the one or two long drives. In fact, Trish organized a DJ party for the long rides and it was great fun. You will have to travel with her or ask someone who was on the trip to get the details as I probably do not have the space in this review. Our bus driver and his assistant were amazing. The tour exposed us to the nomad way of life complete with tea with one of the members of the nomadic group, tours of local mosques (fabulous), a camel ride in the Sahara Desert (fun and not arduous) and overall showed a fantastic overview of the Moroccan lifestyle, people and culture. The hotels were all very comfortable and well situated. Come with a sense of adventure and be open to discovering a different way of viewing the world.

Magnifique and extraordinaire! Just this afternoon, going through 1027 photos of this tour - memories flooding back in from daily wonders; historic sites, Steve's history talks, delightful meals, our 8 hour experience with a guide in Normandy, the group potluck, cave paintings, the peaceful and lovely Dordogne, a caring & skilled bus driver, hiking to the Mont Saint-Michel abbey, a really good group of tour members, the haunting walk through Oradour-sur-Glane, vintage French music on the terrace, and more. The tour included everything you would want to experience, to enjoy and learn, for Western France. We want to do it all over again!

This trip hit every highlight you would want. It really showed the flavor of the culture. Our tour guide Mouna was superb and extremely knowledgeable about everything in the country and culture. Trish our other guide was efficient and funny and pleasant and made sure our needs were met. Some days were packed a little tight but we got to see everything. My only one complaint was the prolonged visit to the leather store. While it was nice to see the pits, the stench was very bad and sitting around for a half hour while a few others shopped for a long time was not pleasant. That could be cut out for me. The highlight for me was the camel ride up the gorgeous dunes to watch the sunset and our night at the desert camp. Also the Atlas mountains on our ride to Marrakech was stunning.

The Morocco tour was our first visit to Northern Africa and our first experience traveling with Imprint, and it certainly met our expectations. Our guide, Mouna, was knowledgeable and generous in sharing her deep understanding of Morocco’s culture and history. The tour was well organized and ran smoothly, even with a last-minute change to the itinerary when Asilah was removed from the route. Some days involved long drives to reach the desert camp, but that was part of the adventure and well worth it. The hotels captured the spirit of Morocco beautifully, and we came away with a much richer appreciation for the country—its people, food, and landscapes. We saw all the major highlights and enjoyed a few wonderful surprises along the way.

The South Africa trip was filled with great sights from Victoria Falls, to the safaris, to Capetown. The Namibia post tour was not. We rode daily for up to 6-8 hours in an un-air conditioned truck over washboard dirt roads, eating dust and wind to visit to a sight that lasted 2 hours or less. The sights were not worth the experience or the discomfort. I would not recommend this Namibia trip to anyone.
